Megan has spent over two decades building businesses that support working professionals and elevate caregiving and leadership roles. From founding one of the Southeast’s most respected nanny agencies, Preferred ChildCare, to helping hundreds of entrepreneurs grow their own companies through Megan Metzger Consulting (MMC), Megan knows firsthand that the right hire is life-changing.
Megan’s journey started in a college dorm, connecting friends to families in need of babysitting help. That small act of service didn’t just spark a career, but a calling. What began with care for families became a business legacy built on integrity, intentionality, and impact. Today, she brings that same care to HELM: ensuring every placement helps leaders do what they do best: lead.

MEGAN METZGER
FOUNDER & CEO
Megan Metzger is an entrepreneur, organizational strategist, and proud mother of four. She began her career in child care at just 11 years old and launched Preferred ChildCare as a college student in 2001. Since then, she has built multiple businesses that support working families and business leaders across the globe.
With a Master’s degree in Leadership & Organizational Development and certifications in Transformational Leadership and Consulting, Megan blends academic insight with lived experience. She has served as President of the International Nanny Association and as an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
What sets Megan apart isn’t just her resume—it’s her heart. As a widowed mother, she knows how much is riding on the right support system. Her businesses are powered by the belief that no one should have to choose between pursuing a meaningful career and having a life they love.
At HELM, Megan brings all of her wisdom, warmth, and work ethic to a new kind of recruitment experience—one where talent and leadership meet intentionality.
